Just off the northwest coast of Bali lies a tiny island called Pulau Menjangan (Deer Island), an uninhabited island of 8 km width, surrounded by hectares of excellent coral reef.
Pemuteran Bay has the largest area of shallow reefs in Bali. The region lacks the extremely strong currents and waves that characterize other coastal areas of Bali. That makes it an ideal spot for diving and snorkeling.
A guided trek through the national park is a special back-to-nature adventure. Experienced national park guides will take you on an easy journey through the areas where the local flora and fauna can be seen in their natural habitat.
On the Pemuteran beach you will find the Turtle Hatchery at Reef Seen. The purpose of this project is to protect the living sea turtles to increase the chances for turtle hatchlings to reach maturity.
There are some very interesting temples in the area. Tourists are obliged to wear a sarong or scarf to enter the area around the temple.

There are several possibilities for horse treks on the beach or through the village.
Traditional Balinese Dancing is an important part of Balinese culture. You can enjoy young Balinese dancers at Reef Seen. They help the children of Pemuteran carry on this beautiful tradition.
Near the fishing village of Pemuteran is the Atlas pearl farm. Visitors can do a tour and learn about the oyster-breeding program, the cultivation cycle and see a demonstration of pearl seeding and harvesting.
Not far from the Buddhist temple are the Banjar hot springs. It is set in a beautiful flowered garden in which these ancient looking hot springs are located.
In the village of Banjar 40 km from Pemuteran you’ll find the Buddhist monastery Brahma Vihara Arama.
There are beautiful waterfalls in Bali that deserve your visit. Some are easy to reach, others are more challenging. Most waterfalls are in the mountains in North Bali.
The North Bali sightseeing route takes you into the mountains surrounded by the three lakes Buyan, Tamblingan and Bratan. Make sure you bring warm clothing because once you reach the misty mountains it can get pretty chilly.
Every morning at sunrise dozens of dolphins gather around for breakfast just offshore of Lovina beach. At 6 o'clock in the morning.
The most amazing Indonesian volcano is the Ijen Crater or Kawah Ijen (2,600m or 8,660ft tall). The "Green Crater" from Eastern Java, has a one-kilometer-wide turquoise-colored acid crater lake and an active sulphur mine.
You can find the Buffalo races in Jembrana about 65 km from Pemuteran, it takes 1,5 hours by car. Mekepung is the name for these incredible event.
Surf option closest to Pemuteran you find at Medewi beach. Distance about 80 km, it will take you 1,5 hours to get there.
This under-visited temple is between Negara and Medewi Beach. The Rambut Siwi Temple is one of the biggest Hindu Temples in Bali.
Surrounded by the forest and coconut plantations, Palasari can be reached within an hour drive from the villa. In this village you can find the Catholic church established in 1940 by Father Simon Buis.
